Our History

As most people have heard, necessity is the mother of all inventions, and Christmas Farms is no exception to that rule.

While we are located in southwestern Michigan, we have many friends and family members who moved to other parts of the country. As the holidays approached each year, it was common for our friends to request a fresh tree or wreath. Michigan is one of the top producing states for Christmas trees, so the concept of not having fresh cut trees and greens was very foreign to us. As true “Christmas Tree Guys,” we know how important it is to have a fresh Christmas tree in our homes, and we wanted to accommodate these requests as much as possible, even on a very limited basis to start with.

As we started to make plans to ship our first trees, our future was sealed after receiving a comment from a close friend: “You can’t ship a tree.” A simple comment like that may not seem significant to most people, but for us, the challenge had just been made, and failure was simply not an option.

Starting in 2002, Christmas Farms offered three types of Christmas trees and two different wreaths. As a small business, we are involved in every aspect of the business, and there is not a day that goes by that we don’t talk to our customers. Every interaction with our customers is an opportunity to help fill a need, and we learn something from just about every conversation. We understand there are countless ways to decorate, and what is appealing to some may not be appealing to others. As a result, we have expanded our selection of fresh Christmas decorations to include fresh greens, a large variety of garlands, and many different designs of wreaths. It took a while to come to this realization, but there is no one-size-fits-all option for Christmas décor.

Each year we design new wreaths using a variety of different materials ranging from standard cuttings to the exotic. On occasion, we hit a home run with a design, but more often than not, people politely tell us, “It looks nice,” with a lack of excitement. At that point, we know it is time to move on to something else. Fortunately, we have managed to create a collection of wreaths and greens that people love, are truly unique, and cannot be found anywhere else. We will continue to expand our collection of unique decorations, so be sure to check our inventory to see what we have available.

Each year we approach the new season with a renewed spirit of enthusiasm and hope. New ideas and great plans are the standard, and it is very rewarding to receive positive feedback from our customers, many who have been with us for years. We take great pride in helping enhance Christmas spirit for people all across the country, and we take great joy in hearing from our satisfied customer.
